OhioHealth Grant Medical Center/Franklin County Firefighters EMS Education program marks 30 years.
This month, the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center/Franklin County Firefighters EMS Education program marks 30 years of training central Ohio emergency medical technicians and paramedics in one of Ohio’s few hospital-based programs. The program was founded in December 1983 and has grown to become one of the largest and most respected training programs in the country. Having graduated more than 1,800 paramedics and hundreds of EMT’s, many of its graduates are serving area fire departments, government-based EMS programs and private ambulance services and hospitals. The students can complete EMT training in four and a half months and paramedic training in 12 to 14 months.
