Prepare and protect for this week’s extreme cold weather

We are headed into serious environmental conditions for the next few days with rain, snow, ice and negative temperatures.

Take hypothermia precautions. Wear cold weather or bunker gear, hoods, gloves and other protective clothing. Consider rehab for extended team exposures and rotate crews often. Protect from moisture and wetness when possible. Remove wet clothing and get warm as soon as possible once exposed.

Keep a good supply of blankets to protect patients. Cover your patients well, especially the face and head. Maintain warm temperatures in trucks for patients and medications supplies.

Watch out for each other. Prepare your family, friends and community. Keep check of the elderly, sick and vulnerable.

We’re here for you; supporting those who serve so many.
